About the Event

2 Nights Accommodation, All Transport from Brisbane | From $250 | Friday 31st Jan 4pm to Sunday 2nd Feb Dec 3:15pm | Only 6  spots! |

It’s summer time and we have a special treat for you with a chance to relax & recharge in some amazing locations. We will be staying at Cabarita beach one block away from the sand and surf. Whilst not as famous as some noisy neighbours, you will be blown away by the scenic coastline views (see the photos!). It was even voted Australia’s number one beach in 2020. But it’s not just Cabarita we’ll be going to, other destinations on the list to visit are Byron Bay, Murwillumbah and Currumbin Valley. As well as an action packed itinerary, there’ll be ample opportunity for free time to laze on the beach or do as you please. And what an incredible way to make some new friends!

Friday night will be the journey to Cabarita, dinner there and checking in (there is a section on accommodation below), we set off from Brisbane at 4pm Roma st bus stop 125.  This morning you’ll also have plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful Cabarita beach and there will be an optional trip to Murwillumbah for some boutique shopping. Murwillumbah, only 30 minutes away, is a historic inland town with a series of unique clothing and nickknack shops. It’s perched on the Tweed River and the drive there is very scenic.

Cabarita has plenty of cafes local for breakfast if you like, otherwise there is a Woolworths down the road if you prefer to have breakfast in. At some point definitely be sure to do the walk out to Norries Headland!

After lunch and more beach time in Cabarita, Saturday afternoon (and night) we’re off to visit Byron Bay. It’s another short 30 minute trip down the motorway and on the way in we’ll stop by at The Farm. Here we can see the pigs, chickens, cows, horses and more on a relaxing walk around the farm grounds. Then it’s off to the hustle and bustle of Byron Bay and whilst Cabarita may be on the quiet side, Byron this time of year will be anything but. We’ll take you up to the Lighthouse for the panoramic views, or if you prefer you can wander the shops of the main street. We’ll have dinner at the famous Beach hotel and where the night takes you next will be up to you. We’ll do a couple of bus trips back to Cabarita, one for the ‘early to beds’ and one for the night owls.

Sunday morning brings another spectacular sunrise off the Cabarita coastline and the chance for some more time at the beach. At 10:00 am we’ll be on our way for brunch at the famed Currumbin Valley Harvest, which is another hidden gem positioned right on Currumbin creek. Fresh organic produce and sustainability are oozing out of the home-made thatched roofs and walls here, and you’ll be hard pressed to find a more idyllic setting. Down the road from the Harvest are the Currumbin Rock Pools which will be the last stop of the tour before we arrive back at Brisbane around 3:15pm.

Accommodation

We have two houses and an apartment booked for all of us to stay in. For the 9 spots up for grabs, 3 of them are queen or king sized beds with a room to yourself. The other 6 are sharing a room with someone else with 2 single beds, and these ones are $40 cheaper, $250. A room to yourself is $269. These are the two options for buying a ticket below.

Please note that if you have a group of 3 and you want to stay in the same place then 2 of you will need to share a room. You won’t be able to each take a room to yourself and stay together in the same place.

Regarding who stays in which house, firstly we will ensure that if you have any friends coming you’ll stay with them. Once that condition is satisfied, we will assign which group is in which house on a first come first served basis (whoever bought the tickets first will be shown the options and allowed to pick).

This is peak holiday season so the accommodation is a bit pricier than other times of the year but we have found some great deals for the accommodation to try to make this trip as affordable as possible! Additionally, if you would like to avoid eating out too much there is a Woolworths nearby with the option of home cooking.
