FAQ

Below are some of our more commonly asked questions; but if you have any further questions, be sure to contact us as per our contacts page:

Who are these events for – can anyone attend?

Our events are open to women of all ages and circumstances! You don’t have to be on the lookout for friends or be new to Brisbane by all means come and enjoy a fun day out 😊

What should I bring?

Nothing special! If it’s a trip to the beach we recommend you bring your swimmers as even it’s overcast in the morning, QLD has a knack of conjuring up incredible weather in the blink of an eye. Even NSW can have decent weather when we hop across the border!
Some of our destinations will be on the cooler side, so you may like to bring a jacket for somewhere like Stanthorpe.

I want to come to an event but am scared to come by myself – what should I do?

People coming by themselves will often benefit the most from coming to our events – as you’ll be sure to put yourself out there and make some new friends. If you are shy though there’s a couple of things you can do:

  1. Contact us so that we can put you in touch with the host for event so you’ll at least know someone upon arrival
  2. Come to one of our specific friend making events, like ‘speed friending’ and that way you can meet someone to go to events with.
I have a group of friends who want to do insert awesome event, can you run this event for us?

Certainly! We have run our fair share of private events in the past, including Hen’s Parties, so for a good sized group we can certainly put something together. It does depend, but typically for a private function we’ll need around 8 people or so in attendance. A smaller group could be possible, but the price per person would then start to increase. The good news is that if you have a group that size you can book a date of your choosing (please give us plenty of notice) and hand-craft the day’s activities to your liking.

I really want to do *insert fabulous activity*, can you arrange for this?

Here at GDO we’re open to ideas and if the event is feasible and fabulous we’ll certainly consider running it! We do aim to keep our events as risk free as possible so we’ll leave some activities, let’s say volcano abseiling, to the experts.

I’ve had a change of plans, can I get a refund?

We understand things can happen and we are happy to offer refunds up till 2 weeks out from an event. Our events invariably sell out so we can’t have people reserving spots and then not attending, as they are denying others the chance to attend. If you let us know a week or more out from an event we’ll work with you to arrange a reschedule to another date or a credit for another type of event. Unfortunately we can’t offer a last minute reschedule to another event as that means that you are effectively taking two seats for your one ticket (we won’t be able to sell the vacant seat last minute).

There are a lot of people trying to sell tickets to your events on Facebook, are they legit’?

Short answer for this one: no. We’ve heard of people paying money to these facebook profiles only to then be blocked. Unfortunately the internet is home to an abundance of scams.

It would be nice to meet some guys some time as well, could you run a mixed event?

Yes! We have plans to run some mixed events down the track as well.
